This is the last and final piece of my series of 5.  This sculpture represents my two sides.  One side represents my demons and all the messed up things in my life, while the other side represent the good and clean part of my life.  Although being that it is a door, meaning that I can go between the two as I please.  The big X on the door on the clean side is to warn you what is behind the door.  The door itself is fully operational with a turning doorknob that also latches within the frame to keep the door shut.

Fourth piece of my series of 5. This one comes from the unnecessary search for greatness or power.  In a way like Icarus trying to reach the sun, but that ultimately led to his down fall.  This is truly something that I am scared of, because I know that human nature can get greedy.

The man reaching is being melted away by the power he is trying to get. The melting was done with an oxy-acetylene torch with oxy welding stick welded on then melted a little to create the dripping effect.  All the detail on the man was done with the MIG gun.

Third piece of 5 from my series.  This piece shows a scene of a man kneeling with his head in his hands in the desert.  The sculpture itself is in such a way that the scenery seems to be going on for longer than it is.  At the other end the sculpture protrudes into a sideways pyramid with a hole at the end.  Also by looking through the whole from the way it protrudes will give a nice portrait of the figure and the cactus facing towards you.  The choice of scenery and the shape of the sculpture is used to create the feeling of loneliness.  As loneliness is one of the biggest demons I deal with on an everyday basis.  Especially the feeling that I can not relate to anyone.

The sand texture was done using the MIG gun was used to create the sand texture by setting the voltage really low and the wire speed really high.  Although I must say that running the machine at those settings makes you way more prone to catch fire due to the excess amount of sparks and little pieces of hot wire falling on you.  I caught fire at least a few time doing the technique.  The cactus and the man are have just a round bar base (or arc welding rode’s for smaller things) and just welds on welds to give mass, and a grinder to take away mass.

Dalton Ghetti creates amazing pencil sculptures by hand, holding the pencil under a strong light source and carving with a sewing needle and a very sharp, triangular, small, metal blade.

His idea is to bring people’s attention to small things. Small is beautiful. Most of the pencils he uses are found on the streets and sidewalks. Dalton’s work is a recycling process. He turns discarded objects into art.

His pencil carvings are not for sale. He doesn’t do it for money. He sculpts pencils mostly for himself and his art comes from his heart. He wants to keep it that way.

This is the second piece of the series.  It shows a truck crashing with someone flying out of it.  The truck symbolizes the choice of path we choose and how it may not be the right path.  For the truck itself is not made properly and was probably bound to crash in the first place.  This demon is more of a fear of mine.  Yet the deeper fear of the truck comes from being actually hit by a car when I was younger.

First piece of a series of 5 metal sculptures called “My Demons”.  This is also my first metal sculpture, finished in February 2013.  He is the literal representation of my demon that I see. The eye symbolizes that he is forever watching and forever knowing.  This whole series is done using various welding techniques, mostly done using MIG for combining pieces of metal together.  The oxy-acetylene torch was used for bending metal into shape.  I played around with the rust and and various grinding equipment to create the textures I wanted.  This figure is also the inspiration to the name of the blog.

My first ring, it is a double band ring made with copper and silver. This ring was made in 2011.
